The West Rim is privately owned and is closer to Las Vegas. It allows Helicopters to fly through the canyon and land at the bottom. The West Rim is famous for it's vibrant colors, the Hualapai heritage, The Grand Canyon Skywalk, and Guano Point.
The South Rim Is a National Park operated by the US Government. The South Rim is the widest and deepest part of the Grand Canyon. It is the most visited park in the USA. This is where you'll find the Mather Point, the Bright Angel Lodge, mules hiking to the bottom as well as the antique train. Helicopters are not allowed to fly below the edge of the canyon at the South Rim.
